Amphibians are hopping, crawling and creeping everywhere at the free �Toad-ally Awesome Amphibians� event in North Chagrin Nature Center on Saturday, March 23 from 2 to 6 p.m., with some hikes extending to 8 p.m.
See a spectacular, as well as one of the largest, displays of amphibians at �Toad-ally Awesome Amphibians,� featuring live amphibians, crafts and activities, puppet shows, movies and themed walks.
See the display of over 40 species of amphibians in the Amphibian Hall from 2 to 6 p.m. The featured live native and tropical amphibians at the event, include: American toad, green frog, Malayan leaf frog, red-eyed tree frog, mossy frog, the native spotted and northern red salamander, bard tiger salamader, various species of poison dart frogs and many more!
In addition to the live amphibians, visitors can enjoy these activities:
2 - 5 p.m. - Create a toad abode
3 and 5 p.m. - Puppet shows
2 and 4 p.m. - Movies
3 - 4 p.m. or 6:15 - 7:15 p.m. - Family Frog Walk
6:30 - 8 p.m. - General Amphibian Walk
6:30 - 8 p.m. - Wood Frog Walk
6:30 - 8:30 p.m. - Salamander Migration Walk*
* Bus meets at North Chagrin Nature Center parking lot (space is limited: free bus tickets available at North Chagrin Nature Center front desk)
Visitors can also browse the awesome merchandise selections of EarthWords Nature Shop, and enjoy a refreshment area.
North Chagrin Nature Center is located off Buttermilk Falls Parkway, off the Sunset Lane entrance of North Chagrin Reservation, off SOM Center Road/Route 91 in Mayfield Village.
