        As nature springs back to life in April, take in the beauty found all around from buds on trees to wildflower blooms.


        Get inspired by nature and try one or maybe all four hands-on craft programs offered this April in Cleveland Metroparks:


    Introduction To Pysanky: Ukrainian Painted Eggs

    Saturday, April 13 � 9 - 11:30 a.m.

    Look About Lodge � South Chagrin Reservation

    Pysanky are Ukrainian Easter eggs decorated using a wax-resist process. Try designing a pysanka to celebrate the season. This hands-on program for adults covers basic, beginner techniques. Registration by April 10 and a $12 fee for supplies are required. Look About Lodge is located at 37374 Miles Road in South Chagrin Reservation, between SOM Center Road/Route 91 and Chagrin River Road in Bentleyville.     Earth Day Crochet

    Sunday, April 21 � 1 - 3 p.m.

    Look About Lodge  � South Chagrin Reservation

    Celebrate Earth Day by turning trash into treasure! Bring a large crochet hook and plastic grocery bags and put them to good use by creating an environmentally-friendly reusable bag. No crochet experience necessary. Look About Lodge is located at 37374 Miles Road in South Chagrin Reservation, between SOM Center Road/Route 91 and Chagrin River Road in Bentleyville.     Crafter's Circle

    Saturday, April 27 � 10 a.m. - noon

    CanalWay Center � Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation

    Do you knit, crochet, rug hook or any other portable hand craft? If so, would you like to meet others who also craft? Join the Crafter's Circle and sit in a natural setting on CanalWay Center's scenic porch and watch the birds while crafting. CanalWay Center is located on Whittlesey Way, off the East 49th Street entrance of Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation, between Grant Avenue and Canal Road in Cuyahoga Heights.     Heritage Hobbies: Tatting

    Saturday, April 27 � 2 - 3:30 p.m.

    CanalWay Center � Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation

    Learn the basics of shuttle tatting. This very old craft was used to adorn everyday items. Learn how to make small spring flowers to decorate note cards. Plus, it's not too early to start working on tatted snowflakes for next winter, as they take a long time. This program is for adults only. Registration, beginning April 1, and a $10 fee are required.
