Clevelanders near and far can get active to help improve Edgewater Park of the new Cleveland Metroparks Lakefront Reservation by voting in Coca-Cola's America is Your Park campaign.
The park with the most votes in this nationwide contest will win a $100,000 recreation grant from The Coca-Cola Company and the title of America's Favorite Park.
There are several ways to vote, and park-goers can vote once a day through the end of the contest on July 15. Visit coke.com/parks to register and start voting. Social media users can also check-in at Edgewater Park via Foursquare once per day and earn five votes per check-in or use the MapMyFitness app, available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, and log in with 20 minutes of physical activity to earn 10 votes!
You can also help the Park District by spreading the word to family and friends via Facebook and Twitter by using #voteedgewater, and visiting Edgewater Park on June 21, the first day of summer, when all votes will be doubled in celebration of the beginning of the season.
As the largest park in the new Lakefront Reservation, Edgewater Park features plenty of opportunities for summer fun and recreation including a sandy beach for swimming or relaxing in the sun, a fishing pier, picnic pavilions, trails for biking or running, grassy fields for flying a kite or playing a game of catch and of course, dramatic views of downtown Cleveland and sunsets over Lake Erie.
Cleveland Metroparks recently signed a historic long-term lease agreement with the City of Cleveland and the State of Ohio that transferred management of six lakefront parks to the Park District. Three of those parks, Edgewater Park, the East 55th Street Marina and Gordon Park, form the new Lakefront Reservation.
Help Cleveland Metroparks re-introduce Edgewater Park to Greater Cleveland, the state of Ohio and the entire country by voting for it to be America's Favorite Park!
