    Don't stay in this Friday night; take a journey across America and into far off lands.


    This February, spend �Friday Nights with Nature,� with special presentations from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Rocky River Nature Center in Rocky River Reservation.


    Enjoy the following free �Friday Nights with Nature� this February:


    Owls of Ohio

    February 1

    Can you build a better mousetrap? Naturalist Ken Gober answers the question in this introduction to Ohio's owls. Kick off the annual Birds of Prey Weekend at Rocky River Nature Center with this program and demystify these secretive nighttime birds.


    The Pony Express: Heroes on Horseback

    February 8

    Karen Beck presents this historic look at the Pony Express. Ride the pony trail across the Great Plains and through deserts, and hear tales of endurance and tremendous bravery set against the backdrop of the wildest West.


    Kenya and Tanzania

    February 15

    You never know what you'll find on safari! Join Naturalist Min Keung, as she shares stories of majestic lions and migrating wildebeest from her recent adventure to Kenya and Tanzania.


    Life in the Freezer

    February 22

    Expedition leader Paul Booyens offers this glimpse into living and working on the coldest, wildest, least-populated and most beautiful continent on the planet, Antarctica. Join this adventure to the place he has dubbed �the land of the white.�



    Doors open at 6:45 p.m.


    These programs are best for adults and student-aged children. Seating is limited.


    Rocky River Nature Center is located at 24000 Valley Parkway in Rocky River Reservation, north of Cedar Point Road in North Olmsted.
