Attention yoga aficionados, novices and nature lovers! Why not spend a relaxing evening getting in tune with the body and nature?
Join local speakers Emily Fuller Williams, Kim Scott Sowinski and Larry and Rosemary Knopf as they connect ancient hand gestures, yoga and music with the nature all around us at the Mudras and Yoga and Cleveland Metroparks event on Sunday, February 10 at 6:30 p.m. in Rocky River Nature Center.
Instructor Emily Fuller Williams will help participants experience a peaceful, calming effect through Mudras, simple ancient hand gestures that can shift moods from anxious to calm, and scattered to focused. Easy to learn, easy to use anywhere, anytime, mudras are an effective, no-cost practice to add to any health care routine.
Instructor Kim Scott Sowinski, filmed her nature yoga DVD, Nature Asana Yoga, entirely in Cleveland Metroparks. She finds natural tranquility provides the perfect atmosphere for yoga practice. Sowinski will teach breathing techniques to help lower blood pressure and clear the mind. These techniques can be anywhere, anytime of the day.
As the perfect complement to Williams' and Sowinski's presentations, join Cleveland Metroparks and sit back to enjoy the sweet sounds of local singers and songwriters Larry and Rosemary Knopf. Their music will reinforce the message of the evening.
This program is presented by Cleveland Metroparks EarthWords Nature Shop.
Registration and $10 fee are required by February 8. Space is limited.
Rocky River Nature Center is located at 24000 Valley Parkway in Rocky River Reservation, north of Cedar Point Road in North Olmsted.
