    Hand Feed a Chickadee

Saturdays and Sundays in February 10 a.m. - noon

    Brecksville Nature Center Brecksville Reservation

Generations of visitors have experienced the thrill of hand feeding chickadees. The nature center will provide a handful of sunflower seeds and instructions. Brecksville Nature Center is located off Chippewa Creek Drive, off the Route 82 entrance of Brecksville Reservation in Brecksville. For more information, call 440-526-1012.

    Chickadees at the Overlook

    Sunday, February 10 2 - 3:30 p.m.

North Chagrin Nature Center North Chagrin Reservation

Experience one of the joys of winter up close and personal hand feeding a chickadee. Hike to the overlook and return to hot chocolate at the nature center. North Chagrin Nature Center is located off Buttermilk Falls Parkway, off the Sunset Lane entrance of North Chagrin Reservation, off SOM Center Road/Route 91 in Mayfield Village. For more information, call 440-473-3370.

Brighten up a dreary winter day by seeing the cheerful, chirpy chickadees that are typically black, white and gray. These bold birds are easy to spot and they love bird feeders with sunflower seeds, and they also like suet. It is more likely to see these feathered friends one at a time because they have their own hierarchy and the dominant chickadee eats first. They are also known to grab one seed, eat it, and come back for more. If one is not seen, don't worry because more will surely come!

Experience hand feeding chickadees this February in Cleveland Metroparks - part of your life, naturally!
