                Cleveland Metroparks Institute of the Great Outdoors (IGO) provides a wide range of outdoor experiences to people of all abilities! Come out and learn a new skill or take an existing one to the next level.


                IGO participants can enjoy the knowledge and expertise of seasoned instructors with all IGO courses and have fun at the same time.


                Upcoming IGO programs in February include:





    Digital Camera 2: How to Shoot and Share

    February 19 � 6 - 9 p.m.

    Garfield Park Nature Center � Garfield Park Reservation

    Classroom discussions will enhance knowledge of searching out a subject, approaching the subject with intent and capturing the desired shot. Bring cameras and warm clothes to improve skills at photographing landscapes, action and trick shots. Explore the many options available to edit, reproduce and share photos. Whether participants get prints, post online, create web galleries, or are looking to mat/frame and sell images� IGO provides the knowledge to get started. This is a great experience for DSLR and �point & shoot� owners.

    Fee: $25 (ages 14 & Up)

    Activity level: easy





    Backpacking Basics

    February 20 � 6 - 9 p.m.

    Rocky River Nature Center � Rocky River Reservation

    Learn the basics to having a safe and enjoyable backcountry experience before investing in expensive gear. IGO staff will cover important topics such as tents, backpacks and other gear; water treatment; and outdoor ethics during this relaxing classroom session.

    Fee: $12.50 (ages 14 & up)
