The air is getting cooler and soon the leaves will turn bright red, orange and yellow. Get into the fall spirit with Cleveland Metroparks and enjoy a weekend outdoors with these September events:
Saturday, September 14 noon to 4 p.m.
North Chagrin Nature Center North Chagrin Reservation
September is when monarch butterflies migrate to warmer climates for the winter. A long time ago, people wondered where these majestic butterflies flitted off to each year. Butterfly banding and recovery has given researchers the ability to find out that these insects disappear to Mexico in September. Learn more about their journey and how scientists study them at Monarch Magic. Enjoy a variety of activities, including an area with live caterpillars and butterflies, hikes, children's crafts and activities! North Chagrin Nature Center is located off Buttermilk Falls Parkway, off the Sunset Lane entrance of North Chagrin Reservation, off SOM Center Road/Route 91in Mayfield Village.
