While it may feel like summer never really got started weather-wise, the cooler temps make the perfect weather for a visit to Cleveland Metroparks Zoo to close out the summer season and experience Dinosaurs! before it's gone!
Twenty-one animatronic dinosaur displays representing 15 different prehistoric species have taken over the Zoo's Waterfowl Lake. The popular seasonal exhibit will be open daily through September 15. Admission to Dinosaurs! is just $3.50 per person with regular Zoo admission ($2 per person for Zoo members). Children younger than 2 receive free admission.
From now through Labor Day, September 2, the Zoo features extended summer hours on weekends and holidays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. After Labor Day, the Zoo is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Labor Day also signals the end of Professor Wylde's Live Animal Show for the season. The show engages audience members of all ages with a few jokes, lots of fun animal facts, and of course, a colorful cast of critters.
The change in season means it's time for fall and Northeast Ohio's favorite spooky safari -- Boo at the Zoo! Tickets for the annual sell-out event, scheduled this year for Oct. 17-20 and 24-27, are on sale now. Tickets are available at the Zoo box office or online at clemetzoo.com. Boo admission is $8 and Zoo members receive a $1 discount. Children younger than 2 are free.
(Note: Due to the Labor Day holiday, free Zoo admission for residents of Cuyahoga County and Hinckley Township will not be offered on Monday, September 2.)
