For the third year in a row, Cleveland Metroparks has earned the Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award (AEP) from the National Procurement Institute.
The award recognizes organizational excellence in procurement by measuring innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity and leadership attributes of the procurement function. AEP awardees obtain a high application score on a rating of standardized criteria. This year's recipients include 43 counties, 58 cities, 17 higher education agencies, 23 school districts, 23 special districts, and 15 state agencies. Cleveland Metroparks is the only government agency in Ohio and the only park district in the nation to receive the award.
It's gratifying to be recognized for leadership, innovation and best practices in procurement, said David J. Kuntz, Cleveland Metroparks Chief Financial Officer. The award is a testament to the Park District's commitment to maximize the value of the tax dollars entrusted to us.
Recent innovations and new uses of technology by Cleveland Metroparks have made its Purchasing Division more competitive and successful in meeting the award criteria. The Park District received the award in 1999, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
I am very proud of the value our purchasing team continues to deliver, said Brian Zimmerman, Cleveland Metroparks Chief Executive Officer. Responsible fiscal stewardship is key to our mission.
