Cleveland Metroparks Ledge Pool & Recreation Area hosts an �Open House� on Saturday, May 11 from noon to 3 p.m. in Hinckley Reservation in Hinckley Township
Enjoy complimentary refreshments while strolling the grounds. Visitors can purchase season passes, learn about pool party packages and sign up for swimming lessons and Lifeguarding and First-Aid programs. See the area's attractions, including the heated 80- by 100-foot stainless steel pool, fishing along the Ledge Lake shore, picnic areas, and sand volleyball and basketball courts.
The swimming season at Ledge Pool officially begins Saturday, May 25 and continues through Sunday, August 18. The pool is open for public swimming from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., daily (the pool opens at noon when swimming lessons are in session). A daily admission fee or season pass access is required to enter the pool area.
Daily admission fees: adults, ages 12 and over - $5; children, ages 6 to 11 - $4; and children, ages 5 and under and senior citizens, ages 65 and over - free.
2013 season passes are good for unlimited use of the pool and cost $70 for individuals and $115 for families in the Tax District (Cuyahoga County & Hinckley Twp. residents), and $80 for individuals and $145 for non-Tax District families. There is also a Childcare Provider/Additional Family Member Pass for $30 per person. A family pass is good for up to two adults and children, ages 21 and younger (limited to six immediate family members all residing at the same residence). Season passes can be purchased in person at Ledge Pool and online at www.clevelandmetroparks.com.
While at the Open House, visitors can also register for �Learn to Swim� programs at Ledge Pool offered this summer. The American Red Cross-certified lessons, available to beginners and intermediate swimmers, are offered the weeks of June 8 through August 10. Space is limited. Lesson fees are $38 per session for season pass holders and $58 for all others. Private lessons can also be arranged.
Pool Parties are also available at Ledge Pool. Family and friends can celebrate any special occasion in a reserved area with picnic tables for up to 3 hours. Food packages are available through the on-site Ledge Rock Caf�, too!
The Recreation Area also features three Reserved Group Picnic Shelters equipped with grills and picnic tables. The picnic shelters are available to reserve for group use year-round, and can be reserved up to one year in advance on a first-come, first-served basis. A non-refundable fee is charged to reserve a picnic shelter, which is available for picnicking from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. during the swimming season. During the swimming season, advance sale swim tickets may also be purchased at $3.50 each (minimum of 10 tickets) for groups using the reserved group shelters, and should be purchased two weeks prior to the event date. The Ledge Pool concession facility and the three picnic shelters are also reservable during the non-swimming season.
