Art is a great way to communicate with nature and relax. Cleveland Metroparks invites everyone to explore the creative ways to engage with nature through these programs in May:
Art Display: A Battle in our Backyards - Native and Invasive Species in Northeast Ohio
Wednesday, May 1 through Sunday, June 30 � 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., daily
CanalWay Center � Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation
This exhibit features two series of sustainable art by Emily Bryant. One is a collection of invasive insect collages made of pressed invasive plant species found in Northeast Ohio. The second features ethereal photographic collages of native species printed on sustainable bamboo paper. On display through June 30. CanalWay Center is located on Whittlesey Way, off the East 49th Street entrance of Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation, between Grant Avenue and Canal Road in Cuyahoga Heights. Gallery Wall: Ohio's Birds

Rocky River Nature Center � Rocky River Reservation
View portraits of Ohio's birds as captured by photographer and bird bander Craig Fritz. Fritz photographs birds on location, but also captures and releases birds for banding, providing an exceptional opportunity to photograph them at a close range. On exhibit through June 29. Cleveland Metroparks Photography Club - East presents the second annual spring print show of their best work. Nature is inspiring, so see unique and inspirational views of the natural work, whether far from home or locally. On exhibit through May 31. North Chagrin Nature Center is located off Buttermilk Falls Parkway, off the Sunset Lane entrance of North Chagrin Reservation, off SOM Center Road/Route 91 in Mayfield Village. Spring is full of bright colors and life. Try capturing spring on paper through some seasonal sketching. Bring a sketchbook and drawing utensils, or try watercolor pencils that are provided to use.
