Cleveland Metroparks invites everyone to the Healthy Planet, Healthy People 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, June 8 at 9 a.m. at Big Cedar Point Picnic Area in Rocky River Reservation in North Olmsted.

Considered one of the most scenic races in Greater Cleveland, this chip-timed 3.1-mile Run/Walk starts on Valley Parkway at 9 a.m., and winds through the natural surface trails and climbs up the 135-stairs to Fort Hill - with a great view 90 feet above the Rocky River!  The course continues down the back stairs and to the finish line.

Our Healthy Planet, Healthy People 5K is a lively race that is fun and challenging for runners of all skill levels. Beginners will enjoy the scenic views while advanced runners will enjoy the dynamic terrain and sharp elevation changes, said Wendy Weirich, Director of Outdoor Education.

Pre-registration is open until Friday, June 7 at 9 a.m. for $20.  Late registration of $25 and packet pickup is from 2 to 7 p.m. at Rocky River Nature Center on Friday, June 7.  Day-of registration and packet pickup on Saturday, June 8 is from 8 a.m. to 8:50 a.m. on race day.

Healthy Planet, Healthy People 5K Run/Walk is sponsored by Dick's Sporting Goods, Earth Fare and Hermes Cleveland.
