    Thanksgiving is just around the corner, which means turkey,
    stuffing, and plenty of cranberry sauce! The day is typically spent
    eating and lounging around at home and feeling a bit sluggish in
    general.



    Combat that lethargic feeling and give thanks with
    Thanksgiving-related programs in Cleveland Metroparks this
    November:



    Thanksgiving Appreciation Hike



    Saturday, November 17 � 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.



    Garfield Park Nature Center � Garfield Park
    Reservation



    Take in the sights and sounds of fall as part of Garfield Park
    Nature Center's 25th Anniversary! Stick around after the
    hike for some soup served in gratitude for all of those who have
    supported Garfield Park Nature Center throughout the years.
    Garfield Park Nature Center is located off Mill Creek Lane, off the
    Broadway Avenue entrance of Garfield Park Reservation in Garfield
    Heights. For more information, call 216-341-3152.



    Preemptive Strike Hike



    Wednesday, November 21 � 10 a.m. - noon



    Rocky River Nature Center � Rocky River Reservation



    Thanksgiving is coming�which could mean eating seconds, thirds
    and maybe even fourths. Feel better about eating that much by
    taking a nice long stroll through the fall forest starting at Rocky
    River Nature Center, located at 24000 Valley Parkway in Rocky River
    Reservation, north of Cedar Point Road in North Olmsted. For more

    Kids' Day at Canalway



    Friday, November 23 � 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.



    CanalWay Center � Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation



    Kids, ages 6 to 12, can bring their turkey-filled bellies in for
    a day of CanalWay entertainment! Go on a hike, do some crafts, play
    some games, watch a movie and eat popcorn! Don't forget to pack a
    lunch, bring a water bottle and dress for the weather.
    Registration, beginning November 1, and a fee of $20 are required.
    CanalWay Center is located on Whittlesey Way, off the East
    49th Street entrance of Ohio & Erie Canal
    Reservation, between Grant Avenue and Canal Road in Cuyahoga

    After Turkey Trot



    Saturday, November 24 � 9:30 a.m. - noon



    Brecksville Nature Center � Brecksville Reservation



    Work off some of those extra calories from Thanksgiving on a
    hike with Naturalist Jenny McClain! Ramble along the ravines and
    wander through forest and fields starting at Brecksville Nature
    Center, located off Chippewa Creek Drive, off the Route 82 entrance
    of Brecksville Reservation in Brecksville. For more information,
    call 440-526-1012.



    Walk It Off



    Saturday, November 24 � 2 - 3:30 p.m.



    Look About Lodge � South Chagrin Reservation



    Too much turkey and stuffing? Walk off those Thanksgiving feast
    calories with a brisk hike in South Chagrin Reservation starting at
    Look About Lodge, located at 37374 Miles Road in South Chagrin
    Reservation, between SOM Center Road/Route 91 and Chagrin River
    Road in Bentleyville. For more information, call 440-247-7075.
