Come see the top guns of golf in the Greater Cleveland area
shoot it out at Cleveland Metroparks Golf �Tour Championship!�
This year's tournament season concludes with the �Tour
Championship� on Saturday, October 13 at Manakiki Golf Course in
Willoughby Hills.
Golfers whofinished in the Top-10 in any of the qualifying Park
District tournaments during the 2012 season are eligible to play in
the Tour Championship and earn points toward the season-ending
Bonus Pool payout! Qualifying Tournaments included: Spring Tour,
4-Person Scramble, 2-Player Scramble, 2-Player,
Scramble/Better Ball, Women's Scramble, Summer Stroke Play Series,
Course Championships, Greater Cleveland Area Championship (GCAC),
Senior GCAC, Women's GCAC, Fall Tour, 2-Player Scramble, and Bill
Barbour Cup.
The top point earner of the Bonus Pool will be named �Cleveland
Metroparks Golfer of the Year!� The Top-10 point earners receive
gift cards of increasing value (1st place is projected
to receive a $450 gift card).
Nick Palladino currently still sits atop Cleveland Metroparks
"Player of the Year" standings and bonus pool payout, but
there are players inching closer. A second place finish for
A.J. Borisa at the Big Met Scramble this past weekend moved him up
from a tie for third to second place with 74 points, just six
behind Palladino! Borisa's partner, Steve Blackburn, Sr., now
sits in fifth place with 58 points, moving up two spots.
Scott Heran and Michael Mintz finished 8th at Big Met to put Heran
in third overall with 62 points. Dave Stover and Brad Poe
made big jumps with their fourth place finish at Big Met.
Stover and Poe moved into the top-ten bonus pool payout, with
Stover moving from 12th to 7th and Poe climbing 21 spots from a tie
for 30th to a tie for 9th.
Invitation to play the Tour Championship on October 13 is
required. Tee times begin at 9 a.m..
The tournament is an individual 18-hole scratch event and USGA
rules are in effect where applicable. Prizes for this tournament
will be merchandise-only gift certificates determined by number of
entries.
