The coming of autumn brings cooler temperatures,
changing scenery and a new Pumpkin Carving Contest at Rocky River
Nature Center!
Add some excitement to the normal fall line-up by dropping off a
�nature themed� carved or decorated pumpkin to Rocky River Nature
Center from Wednesday, October 24 through Friday, October 26. The
nature center is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Contest entry
fee is $5 per pumpkin.
The pumpkins will be displayed with artist's name and title of
work at Rocky River Nature Center starting on Saturday, October 27
at the �Halloween Hoopla� event, through October 31.
Winners will be announced at �Halloween Hoopla� at 3:30 p.m. at
Rocky River Nature Center.
The grand prize winner receives a $25 gift certificate to
EarthWords Nature Shop! Second and third place recipients receive
complimentary registration for two to one of Rocky River Nature
Center's �Inviting the Planet to Dinner� programs of their choice
($14 value).
Participants can pick up their pumpkins on November 1, if
desired.
Pumpkins can also be donated and not be in contest.
