    Nighttime can look very different in the winter,
    especially in the park.



    Join Cleveland Metroparks for night programs this December:



    Night Hike



    Friday, December 7 � 7  - 9 p.m.



    Brecksville Nature Center � Brecksville Reservation



    The forest changes as the evening moves in. Join Naturalist Pam
    Taylor on a hike along a hemlock ravine and listen to the forest at
    night. Tasty treats will be ready upon return to the nature center.
    Registration, beginning November 26, is required. Brecksville
    Nature Center is located off Chippewa Creek Drive, off the Route 82
    entrance of Brecksville Reservation in Brecksville. For more

    Family Friday Night: Winter Sleepover



    Friday, December 14 � 6:30 p.m. to Saturday, December 15 � 8
    a.m.



    North Chagrin Nature Center's Nature Education Building �
    North Chagrin Reservation



    Experience an unforgettable overnight at the Nature Education
    Building. Spend time indoors and outdoors exploring and enjoying
    nature together. The sleepover includes a campfire, hike, breakfast
    and more. Come after dinner Friday evening and stay until Saturday
    morning. Registration and a $5 fee are required, and due by
    December 12. North Chagrin Nature Center's Nature Education
    Building is located behind the nature center, off Buttermilk Falls
    Parkway, off the Sunset Lane entrance of North Chagrin Reservation,
    off SOM Center Road/Route 91 in Mayfield Village. For more

    Friday Movie Night

    Come see Part Two of the critically-acclaimed documentary series
    by Ken Burns, The National Parks: America's Best Idea.
    Witness the struggles and the triumphs of preserving the parks for
    everybody to enjoy and for nature to thrive. Popcorn will be

    Candlelit Hike and Caroling

    Look About Lodge � South Chagrin Reservation



    Take a break from the busy season by walking through a beautiful
    South Chagrin Reservations forest lit by candle luminaries. The
    walk will lead to a roaring fire where carols will be sung. Look
    About Lodge is located at 37374 Miles Road in South Chagrin
    Reservation, between SOM Center Road/Route 91 and Chagrin River

    Focus on the Planet Film Series: Carbon Nation



    Wednesday, December 19 � 7 - 8:30 p.m.



    Rocky River Nature Center � Rocky River Reservation



    The film, Carbon Nation, is about solutions to climate
    change. This optimistic, non-preachy film shows how working out
    climate change can boost the economy and raise the quality of life
    on the planet. Rocky River Nature Center is located at 24000 Valley
    Parkway in Rocky River Reservation, north of Cedar Point Road in

    Family Friday Night: Night Tree



    Friday, December 21 � 6:30 - 8 p.m.

    Join North Chagrin Nature Center in bringing the book, Night
    Tree
    by Eve Bunting to life this holiday season. Hike through
    the nighttime forest to a perfect spot. There, decorate a tree for
    the wilderness friends, sip hot cocoa and sing a few songs.
    Registration, beginning December 3, is required. North Chagrin
    Nature Center is located off Buttermilk Falls Parkway, off the

    Full Moon Hike

    This is the last chance of the year to experience the beauty of
    a forest by the light of a full moon. Search for signs of owls,
    beaver and coyotes. Dress for the weather! North Chagrin Nature

    Full Cold Moon

    Naturalist Gretchen Motts for a brisk walk. Then, warm up by the
    fire with a cup of hot chocolate afterward. Rocky River Nature
