This holiday season, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is offering its first ever special Winter Break Camp for kids ages 5-12.
The three-day camp runs from Wednesday, December 26 through Friday, December 28 with half-day (9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) and full-day (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) sessions available.
Kids will meet in the Jungle Lab classroom at The RainForest and explore a different theme each day including Primates, Cats & Aquatics, Animals of Africa and The RainForest.
Each interactive and educational session includes tours of Zoo exhibits, Get Close encounters with small animals, arts and crafts and conservation-themed games.
We saw a need for a fun, educational program over the traditional winter break from school, said Zoo Curator of Education Vicki Searles. So we created our first Winter Break Camp to engage kids at the Zoo with hands-on, conservation-themed activities and give them a break from TV and video games.
