Join Cleveland Metroparks Historical Interpreter
Foster Brown for a special, 5-day �Appalachian Lifestyle Adult Day
Camp� on June 11 through15 at Redwing Cabin in Hinckley
From 9:30 a.m to noon ,daily, enjoy hands-on study
about the life and art of the Appalachian culture.
Adult campers will build and learn how to play an Appalachian
dulcimer, make a berry basket, a beeswax candle, and a drinking
gourd. Participants will also learn the art of spinning a good folk
tale, sing Appalachian folk songs and taste foods characterized by
this mountain lifestyle.
Registration, beginning May 28, is required and space is
limited. There is a $150 fee per person (includes dulcimer kit,
instruction book, gourd, beeswax, basket materials and insightful
Redwing Cabin is located off West Drive in Hinckley Reservation,
between Bellus and State roads in Hinckley Township.
