Join Cleveland Metroparks on Saturday and Sunday, March 24 and
25 from noon to 4 p.m. for the free �Let's Get Ready to Ride! -
CanalWay Center's Bicycle Weekend� at CanalWay Center in Ohio
& Erie Canal Reservation in Cuyahoga Heights.
The event features free workshops throughout the day to build
confidence to maintain and fix a bike. Plus, exhibitors and
bike clubs will be on site to answer questions, offer tips and get
you back outside and riding the bike. The following is a list of
some of the exhibitors and what they'll be offering at the
event:
Ohio City Bicycle Co-Op - demonstrations and
participation on how to change a tire, what's wrong with this bike,
the first Saturday of the month 5- to 10-mile family friendly
rides, bicycle advocacy and classes, and earn-a-bike program
Ray's MTB Indoor Mountain Bike Park - indoor mountain
bike and BMX courses for beginners, novices and expert
riders. Ray's also offer bicycle and equipment rental,
women's nights and private parties
NOACA (Northeast Ohio Area-wide Coordinating Agency) - a
bike coordinator offering maps of five counties and rating roads
for bicycling
The Bike Rack - from Downtown Cleveland, to discuss bike
parking/lockers/showers, bike rental and repairs
Pedal for Prizes - the annual free community event
(Saturday, May 19) in which participants can win great raffle
prizes (including a new bike) by exploring Cleveland's Old Brooklyn
neighborhood by bicycle
Cleveland Touring Club - recreational cyclists for all
sill levels, riding the low traffic roads of Northeastern Ohio for
camaraderie, physical fitness and friendships that come along with
cycling
Institute of the Great Outdoors - offering bicycle
classes and discussing the Royalview Trail Grand Opening weekend
(June 15 to 17)
Cleveland Metroparks Rangers - discussing bicycle safety
and the �Safe is Sound� program along the Towpath Trail
Cleveland Metroparks Trail Monitors - volunteer
opportunities for bicyclists along the Park District trails.
CanalWay Center is located on Whittlesey Way, off the East
49th Street entrance of Ohio & Erie Canal
Reservation, between Grant Avenue and Canal Road in Cuyahoga
Heights.
