    Discover Spring Birds in Cleveland Metroparks

    Spring has sprung, and many of our feathered friends have
    returned from their winter homes to Cleveland Metroparks. 



    Enjoy a variety of free bird-related programs this April:



    Sunday Bird Walk



    Sunday, April 1 � 8 - 10 a.m.



    North Chagrin Nature Center � North Chagrin
    Reservation



    Warm-up to the Audubon Bird Walk series and search for early
    migrants around the pond and marsh. Some binoculars will be
    available to borrow. North Chagrin Nature Center is located off
    Buttermilk Falls Parkway, off the Sunset Lane entrance of North
    Chagrin Reservation, off SOM Center Road/Route 91 in Mayfield

    Backyard Birds and Banding



    Saturday, April 14 � 9:30 - noon



    CanalWay Center � Ohio & Erie Canal
    Reservation



    This month, discuss the larger birds that can be seen soaring
    through the clouds. How do hawks, eagles and vultures relate to
    local backyards? There will also be bird banding going on, so
    participants can see feeder birds up close. CanalWay Center is
    located off Whittlesey Way, off the East 49th Street
    entrance of Ohio & Erie Canal Reservations, between Grant
    Avenue and Canal Road in Cuyahoga Heights. For more information,

    Bird Banding at Rocky River Nature Center



    Sunday, April 15 � 9:30 a.m. -
    noon



    Rocky River Nature Center � Rocky River
    Reservation



    Better than binoculars - capture and release birds from the
    feeder and view their intricate details up close! Learn about bird
    banding, an essential and fascinating tool for learning about these
    feathered friends. Program cancelled if raining. Rocky RiverNature
    Center is located at 24000 Valley Parkway in Rocky River
    Reservation, north of Cedar Point Road in North Olmsted.  For

    Spring Bird Hike



    Thursday, April 19 � 8:30 - 10:30 a.m.



    Jackson Field parking lot � South Chagrin
    Reservation



    Hike to discover winged migrants during this series of bird
    hikes (Continues on April 19, 26 & May 3, 10, 17, 24).
    Binoculars recommended. Some binoculars will be available to
    borrow. Jackson Field is located off Jackson Road in South Chagrin
    Reservation, north of Miles Road in Moreland Hills. For more

    Nuthatch Avoiders



    Sunday, April 29 � 9 - 10 a.m.



    Jackson Field � South Chagrin Reservation



    Novice bird watchers can take their time searching for resident
    and migratory birds. Maybe even learn some bird songs. Binoculars
    will be available to borrow. Jackson Field is located off Jackson
    Road in South Chagrin Reservation, north of Miles Road in Moreland
