It's important for children and adults to learn and
practice conservation at home and within their communities and
parks. Join Cleveland Metroparks this summer for the Kids For
Conservation series on four consecutive Thursday evenings - July
5, 12, 19 and 26 - from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at North Chagrin Nature
Center in North Chagrin Reservation in Mayfield Village.
This free children's series provides an opportunity to learn
important lessons about plants, wetlands and habitats intertwined
with fun songs about the animals that reside in Northeast Ohio.
The Kids For Conservation series includes the following
programs:
Thursday, July 5 Dr. Wildweed. Spend an hour
with an old-time herbalist along with lots of audience
participation. According to Dr. Wildweed, every plant has a
purpose, and every plant has a story.
Thursday, July 12 Willie of the Willows. This wetland
wise man shares the value of wetlands by telling stories and
singing songs about this fascinating habitat.
Thursday, July 19 Professor Horatio Habitat. This wacky
professor teaches the importance of healthy wildlife habitats and
shares about Ohio's endangered species through humor, song and
audience participation.
Thursday, July 26 Children's Nature Songs and
Stories With Foster Brown. Award-winning
singer/songwriter Foster Brown will have everyone singing and
learning about the wonders of nature through memorable rhythms and
rhymes.
North Chagrin Nature Center is located off Buttermilk Falls
Parkway, off the Sunset Lane entrance of North Chagrin Reservation,
off SOM Center Road/Route 91 in Mayfield Village.
