This summer, Cleveland Metroparks has teamed up with The Nature
Conservancy in Ohio and Honda of America Mfg. Inc. to help Ohio
residents experience the outdoors in a new way with Natural
Treasures of Ohio. Now through August 8, Ohioans can enter for a
chance to win a 2012 Honda Insight Hybrid at
www.nature.org/naturaltreasuresohio or on Facebook at
https://www.facebook.com/ohionatureconservancy.
As part of the challenge, Ohio residents must visit one or more
specially-selected natural areas and upload a photo of themselves
with that site's designated landmark. Participants can locate
nearby treasure areas and site-specific details online. One grand
prize winner will receive the 2012 Honda Insight Hybrid and five
second place winners will receive $500 REI gift cards.
In addition to entering to win, participants are encouraged to
explore the areas through a series of fun, family-friendly
activities which can also be found online.
We are excited about this opportunity to team up with The
Nature Conservancy and Honda of America to showcase Cleveland's
Emerald Necklace, said Cleveland Metroparks Executive Director
Brian Zimmerman. Cleveland Metroparks is loved by the local
community, but this promotion gives us a chance to share our
treasurers with the whole state.
Cleveland Metroparks and the Nature Conservancy have a long
history of working together to protect open space , Zimmerman
continued. In 1983, The Nature Conservancy received a 3-acre gift
of land that provides an access point to the southern end of North
Chagrin Reservation. This forest supports an array of
wildlife, from migrating birds in its trees to the frogs and
salamanders that find refuge in the ponds on the diverse forest
floor.
Get out and explore to see the riches that nature has to offer
in Cleveland Metroparks and across the State of Ohio. Snap a
photograph to save your memories. You are only an upload away from
a chance to win!
