Cleveland Metroparks invites everyone to hop on a bike and enjoy
the beautiful outdoors on two wheels this July. The various bike
rides include brief, historical and nature lessons while passing
through gorgeous landscapes, parks, farmland and Ohio historical
sites.
The group bike tours in July include:
Biking The Back Roads: Mill Creek MetroParks
Bikeway
Saturday, July 14 � 9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Mill Creek MetroParks Bikeway (Mahoning County)
�Biking The Back Roads� tours are designed specifically for the
casual rider who takes cycling seriously, but not at a race pace.
Each group ride includes a short historical and nature lesson. The
Mill Creek MetroParks Bikeway tour travels through the center of
beautiful Mahoning County, past picturesque nature preserves, a
MetroParks farm and many historic remnants of the old Erie
Railroad. This 30-mile bike ride travels off the Mill Creek
MetroParks Bikeway and explores the back roads. Bring a packed
lunch and helmets are required. Registration is required. For

Family Adventure: Bike The Ohio
& Erie Canal

Reservation
Cultural Historian Doug Kusak leads a historical and nature
bicycle adventure on Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation's all
purpose trail. This 3-mile bike ride travels at a family-friendly
pace, heading north to Furnace Ridge Overlook. Helmets are
required. CanalWay Center is located on Whittlesey Way, off the
East 49th Street entrance of Ohio & Erie Canal
Reservation, between Grant Avenue and Canal Road in Cuyahoga
Heights. Registration, beginning July 2, is required. For

Harvard Road Trailhead parking lot � Ohio & Erie
Canal Reservation
Join Cultural Historian Doug Kusak and Naturalist Jill Hauger on
a 12-mile bike ride along the entire length of Ohio & Erie
Canal Reservation. Enjoy an ice cream break at the turnaround point
(bring your own money). Limited bike rentals are available; call
for details. Registration, beginning July 2, and a $1 fee are
required. Harvard Road Trailhead parking lot is located on Harvard
Avenue, a quarter mile east of Jennings Road, under the Harvard

Tour de Necklace: Bedford Reservation

Viaduct Park � Bedford
Reservation
This 18-mile ride begins at Viaduct Park with a discussion of
the early history of Bedford. The bike ride continues through
Bedford Reservation and onto the Akron-Cleveland Bike Trail.
Registration is required. Viaduct Park is located off the
intersection of Taylor and Willis Street in Bedford Reservation,
off Union Street in Bedford. For registration and more information,

Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad Rockside Road Station
� Independence
Join Cultural Historian Doug Kusak as he leads a 13-mile,
history adventure on bicycle and iron horse. The fun begins at
Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad Rockside Road Station as the
group rides the rails to Peninsula. Then, everyone hops on their
bikes and pedals back to Rockside Road Station. A $5 fee is
required for this adult and teens (ages 15 and older accompanied by
an adult) program. Helmets and registration, beginning July 2, are
required. Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad Rockside Road Station is
located on the corner of Canal and Old Rockside roads in
