The sweet sounds of children laughing and giggling will fill the
air, as young nature-lovers, ages 2 to 6, explore, play, learn and
more at the free �Knee-High Naturalists� event on Sunday, June 24
from noon to 4 p.m. at the Arboretum in South Chagrin Reservation
Children will play and learn all afternoon with many fun-filled
activities. They can play nature games, make nature crafts,
play in the �discovery sandbox,� high-five the roving chipmunk,
play in a pond playground and an Earthboat, meet a naturalist, and
Visitors can learn about nature the �fun way� by playing with
the habitat felt board, and, new this year, catch a live
Plus, kids take a hike with �Nora� the Explorer!
There are photo opportunities, too. Adults should be sure
to bring cameras to capture the memories.
And, kids can enjoy borrowing bee and ladybug costumes and
high-five the roving �chipmunk� character!
Light refreshments available for sale at the event, too.
Parking for the �Knee-High Naturalists� event is at The
Shelterhouse Picnic Area, located off Hawthorn Parkway, east of SOM
Center Road/Route 91 in Bentleyville - north of the Route 422/Route
From The Shelterhouse Picnic Area, visitors cross Hawthorn
Parkway to the all purpose trail. Follow the trail along
Arbor Lane to the entrance of the Arboretum.
