After saying hello" to Mayor Mantis, children can grab a
Passport and become official tourists of Bug City!

Meet the citizens of Cleveland Metroparks Bug City
event on Saturday, August 11 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Garfield
Park Nature Center in Garfield Park Reservation in Garfield
    Heights.

Visitors of all ages are encouraged to take in the sites, learn
about the importance of bugs and even sample some bug cuisine.

Children can get a passport to be stamped throughout Bug City's
districts after completing a variety of activities.  After the
children receive at least five stamps, they can redeem their
passport for a specially-designed Bug City prize.

In seven districts, children can learn all about bug life with
engaging activities and exhibits. In the Bug House, see various
bugs from native Ohio critters to African creepy-crawlies. Stop by
the Garden District and get garden tips on which plants will
attract certain bugs with the Master Gardeners. See live and
mounted butterflies, and meet some beekeepers while learning all
about bees and tasting some delicious honey.

Take in a show in the Art District with the new Alberti's Flea
Circus or take a buggy voyage with Capt'n Willie and enjoy buggy'
    music with Gary Lee.

Walk down Predator Alley to see live animals from Lake Erie
Nature & Science Center and test your Bug IQ.  Experience
Bug SafariLand and enjoy the great bug hunt, the ant trail, and a
must-do activity for kids - the Mealworm 500, where kids can watch
the mealworms race to the finish line!

With all the walking around the seven districts, a good place to
stop and enjoy a snack in Bug City is the Culinary Bugstitute with
Chef Gene White.  Enjoy bug cooking demonstrations, bug
    recipes and tasty samples.

Families can also take rides on the Bug Express train
    ($2/person).

Garfield Park Nature Center is located off the Broadway Avenue
entrance of Garfield Park Reservation in Garfield Heights - north
    of the I-480/Broadway Avenue exit.
