Cleveland Metroparks Zoo treats seniors to free admission and special activities on Senior Safari day -- Friday, August 31 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. -- giving those ages 55 and older the chance to check out the Zoo and The RainForest for FREE.
Guests of all ages can visit the exhibitor pavilion featuring senior health, wellness and lifestyle information from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and see a performance by the RSVP Players drama group in the Auditorium at 10:15, 11 and 11:45 a.m. The Progressive Field Dixieland Band performs on the Welcome Plaza from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and there will be chances to Meet the Keepers and opportunities to meet one of the Zoo's animal residents during Get Close encounters.
Be sure to check out some of the Zoo's summer Hot Spots, including Professor Wylde's Live Animal Show, the new animal presentation in the Ballarat Theatre, a range crossing at African Elephant Crossing and a giraffe feeding.
The Zoo has wheelchairs available for rent and a complimentary tram service to take visitors to the Primate, Cat and Aquatics Building.
Northeast Ohio's most-visited year-round attraction, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily with hours extended to 7 p.m. on weekends and holidays from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Admission is $12.25 per person, $8.25 for kids ages 2 to 11 and free for children younger than 2 and Zoo members. Parking is free. Located at 3900 Wildlife Way, the Zoo is easily accessible from Interstates 71, 90 and 480.
