Lake Boathouse and Store on Sunday, March 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
in Hinckley Reservation in Hinckley Township.
On Sunday, March 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., visitors can enjoy
the Grand Opening of the Hinckley Lake Boathouse and Store.
Tour around the store, shop, ask questions, and be sure to enter a
drawing for a FREE boat rental!
And, before stopping down at the Boathouse and Store, swing by
the Buzzard Roost to experience Buzzard Sunday! from 9 a.m. to 2:30
p.m. and visit the EarthWords booth at the event featuring unique
buzzard items for sale!
In the past few months, the Hinckley Lake Boathouse and Store
has been renovated and getting ready for a great
season. Cleveland Metroparks EarthWords Nature Shops is
managing the Boathouse and Store. Along with fresh coats of
paint and new ownership, the Boathouse will feature new boats for
After the Grand Opening of the Hinckley Lake Boathouse and
Store, the store hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (October through
March) and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. (April through September).
The boat rental season begins in mid-April to coincide with the
fish stocking of HinckleyLake. The Boathouse and Store will
have canoes, kayaks (both single and tandems), rowboats (with and
without motors), stand up paddleboards, pedal boats, and two
pontoon boats. Rental prices range from $13 to $60.
A variety of fishing supplies like fishing lines, lures,
bobbers, bait buckets, hooks, nets, and three types of fresh bait
(minnows, night-crawlers and maggots) will be for sale.
And, in case you left the fishing rod at home, the Boathouse
will have fishing rods and reels available for rent or if just
interested in trying it out.
Hinckley Lake is a great place to take the family for a picnic.
If the picnic basket was not fully stocked, the Boathouse and Store
will have ice and picnic supplies, such as charcoal, paper
products, tablecloth, and coolers for sale.
The new Hinckley Boathouse and Store also features an assortment
of adult and children's apparel, including adult spring jackets,
sweatshirts, t-shirts, button-down shirts, bamboo socks, caps,
sunhats, and visors. Other novelty items available are
ponchos, umbrellas, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings, lotions,
and an assortment of books, such as Field Guides and local area
books, fishing and boating books, and the �Fascinated Naturalist�
series, created by Cleveland Metroparks own Jennifer Brumfield.
During the winter months, the Boathouse and Store will carry
hooded sweatshirts and fleece jackets, as well as ice cleats.
Light refreshments and some microwaveable items will also be
available for purchase.
