Brighten up a dreary winter day by seeing the cheerful, chirpy
chickadees that are typically black, white and gray. These bold
birds are easy to spot and they love bird feeders with sunflower
seeds, and they also like suet. It is more likely to see these
feathered friends one at a time because they have their own
hierarchy and the dominant chickadee eats first. They are also
known to grab one seed, eat it, and come back for more. If one is
not seen, don't worry because more will surely come!
And opportunities to feed the chickadees do not end in December.
Be sure to check the January Emerald Necklace publication for
more opportunities to interact with these feathered friends.
Hand feed the chickadees this December with Cleveland
Metroparks - part of your life, naturally!
