Did you know a group of bears is called a sleuth? Want to learn more bear facts? Bring your little cubs to Teddy Bear Day at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on Saturday, September 22. Children younger than 12, who bring a teddy bear, or plush pal of any species, receive free admission to the Zoo with a paid adult admission.
Special Teddy Bear Day activities are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sarah Allison Steffee Center for Zoological Medicine including a check-up for all the fuzzy friends from the Zoo's volunteer teddy bear doctors and a certificate of Beary good health!
Kids can also walk with their plush pals in the teddy bear parade, visit face painting and temporary tattoo stations, meet with a costumed character and see some of the Zoo's smaller animals up close with Get Close animal encounters.
There will be chances to hear more about how the Zoo takes care of its bears during Meet-the-Keeper sessions, and of course see all the Zoo's bears in Northern Trek, including grizzly bears, North American black bear, polar bear, Malayan sun bear, sloth bear and Andean bear.
Northeast Ohio's most-visited year-round attraction, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily with hours extended to 7 p.m. on weekends and holidays from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Admission is $12.25 per person, $8.25 for kids ages 2 to 11 and free for children younger than 2 and Zoo members. Parking is free.
