Party like it's 1799 at Cleveland Metroparks
�FallFest: 18th Century Festival!� Return to
simpler times on Sunday, September 30 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at
Meadows Picnic Area in Brecksville Reservation in Brecksville.
At the free event, visitors can experience activities of days
gone by such as butter churning, candle dipping, quill pen writing,
rope making, wool dying with natural dyes and wood block printing.
Other activities include wax and honey production, wool spinning,
black smithing and much more!
Visitors can also sample fresh apple cider, popcorn,
fresh-churned honey, and more!
Plus, the British are coming, the British are coming! �The
Redcoats� will battle the Americans in a 1777 mock battle at 4 p.m.
performed by the Brigade of the American Revolution. Discover how
the American forces used different tactics to turn back Crown
Forces. Also, see the 18th century soldier parade,
followed by demonstrations on the role of 18th century
women and their clothing. Camp tours and cooking demonstrations
will be held all day, too.
Visitors can also purchase refreshments and souvenirs, and pony
rides will be available for $4 a ride.
FallFest is located at Meadows Picnic Area, located off Meadows
Drive in Brecksville Reservation, off Chippewa Creek Drive in
Brecksville. A shuttle bus will be available from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
to shuttle visitors to and from other designated parking areas.
