Cleveland Metroparks invites the public to participate in a
series of public open houses in April and May to assist in the Park
District's continuing process of strategic planning, Cleveland
Metroparks 2020: The Emerald Necklace Centennial Plan.
The plan will assist in setting the vision to guide future
decision-making and priorities for the Park District's operation in
the next decade. Additionally, the plan will establish a foundation
for Cleveland Metroparks next century of service and natural
resources conservation, and sustainability for future
generations.
Five Public Open Houses have already been held at various
locations throughout the Park District. The remaining Public Open
Houses for April and May, which are in a drop-by format for
specific reservations/properties, are as follows:
� Wednesday, April 25 - 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Brecksville
Nature Center - located off Chippewa Creek Drive, off the Route
82 entrance of Brecksville Reservation in Brecksville.
Reservations to be covered: Bedford, Brecksville, Hinckley and
Mill Stream Run reservations.
� Tuesday, May 8 - 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Ledge Lake Pool
Building in Hinckley Reservation - located off Ledge Road in
Hinckley Reservation, between Kellogg and State roads in Hinckley
Township.
Reservations to be covered: Hinckley Reservation
� Thursday, May 17 - 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at CanalWay Center
- located on Whittlesey Way, off the East 49th Street entrance of
Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation, between Grant Avenue and Canal
Road in Cuyahoga Hts.
Reservations to be covered: Big Creek, Brecksville, Brookside,
Ohio & Erie Canal, Washington, and West Creek reservations.
� Thursday, May 24 - 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at CanalWay Center
- located on Whittlesey Way, off the East 49th Street entrance of
Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation, between Grant Avenue and Canal
Road in Cuyahoga Hts.
Reservations to be covered: Euclid and Huntington
reservations. and Areas to be covered: Cleveland Lakefront Nature
Preserve, Lakefront, Towpath Trail.
Staff will be on hand to answer questions and take comments at
each open house. Maps and materials on the reservations/properties
covered at each location will also be available.
These open houses are a follow-up to public meetings held around
the Park District last year which included a presentation by
Cleveland Metroparks staff about the existing conditions of the
specific reservations as well as small group discussions and a
summary session to end the evening.
