Cleveland Metroparks Zoo wants to help seniors get in touch with their wild side at the annual Senior Safari on Friday, June 24.
On that day, anyone age 55 or better receives FREE admission to the Zoo and the RainForest, plus access to an exhibitor pavilion featuring senior health, wellness and lifestyle information from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. including blood pressure and blood glucose screenings at the Drug Mart booth.
There also will be free fitness demonstrations courtesy of Silver Sneakers Fitness Program. The Silver Sneakers will do a muscular strength and range of motion demo at 10:30 a.m., followed by a yoga session at 1 p.m.
If the arts are more your style you can check out the classic Basin Street sounds of the Progressive Field Dixieland Band from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or see a free performance by the RSVP Players drama group.
Not to mention all the attractions the Zoo itself has to offer! There are live animal shows in the Ballarat Theatre and Savanna Theater, tropical butterflies in the seasonal FLUTTER! exhibit, and of course, the stars of the summer, the elephants of African Elephant Crossing.
Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily with hours extended to 7 p.m. on weekends and holidays from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Admission is $11 per person, $8 for kids ages 2 to 11 and free for children younger than 2 and Zoo members. Parking is free. Located at 3900 Wildlife Way, the Zoo is easily accessible from Interstates 71, 90 and 480.
