Rain or shine (preferably shine), the stars come in and out at
Cleveland Metroparks free "Nature at Night" event on
Saturday, July 16 from 5 to 11 p.m. at North Chagrin Nature Center
in North Chagrin Reservation in Mayfield Village.
Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities related to the night,
including live nocturnal animal programs, moon viewing through
telescopes (weather permitting), a 'nighttime animal' maze, songs
and stories, a shadow puppet program, children's crafts,
self-guided nature night stations with bats, spiders, amphibians,
And, everyone can discover the night sky - indoors, by climbing
into the inflatable starlab and seeing various constellations and
Visitors can also browse the great merchandise selections of
EarthWords Nature Shops, and enjoy the refreshment area.
And, be sure to bring lawn chairs/blankets to enjoy an outdoor
movie - "Legend of the Guardians" - at approximately 9
p.m. on the nature center's lawn.
"Legend of the Guardians" -Soren, a young barn
owl, is kidnapped by owls of St. Aggie's, ostensibly an orphanage,
where owlets are brainwashed into becoming soldiers. He and his new
friends escape to the island of Ga'Hoole, to assist the noble, wise
owls who fight the army being created by the wicked rulers of St.
