    This summer is for the birds!  Flutter over to Cleveland
    Metroparks this August for some fun and interesting bird-themed
    programs, including:



     



    Bird Banding



    Saturday, August 6 � 9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.



    CanalWayCenter � Ohio & Erie Canal
    Reservation



    Learn about bird banding, an essential tool for learning about
    our feathered friends. Visitors can see the intricate details of
    the birds that are captured at the feeders, banded and released.
    Drop in anytime, however the program will be cancelled if raining.
    CanalWayCenter is located on Whittlesey Way, off the East 49th
    Street entrance of Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation, between Grant
    Avenue and Canal Road in CuyahogaHeights. Call 216-206-1000 for

    Sunday Bird Walk



    Sunday, August 7 � 8 - 10 a.m.



    Rogers Road parking lot � North Chagrin Reservation



    August brings the end of the breeding season and the early
    beginning of bird migration. Adults and teens can join a
    naturalist, and head to the swamp searching for birds along the
    way. Some binoculars will be available to borrow for this
    off-trail, 2-mile hike.  Rodgers Road parking lot is located
    off Rogers Road in North Chagrin Reservation, between Chardon Road
    and Ox Lane in MayfieldVillage. For more information, call

    Summer Swallows



    Sunday, August 7 � 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. 



    Rocky RiverNatureCenter � Rocky River
    Reservation



    Join Naturalist Min Keung on a 1.5-mile hike in search of summer
    swallows. Rough winged swallows and cliff swallows are among the
    beautiful birds that make Rocky River Reservation their home. The
    hike may be muddy and wet. Rocky RiverNatureCenter is located at
    24000 Valley Parkway in Rocky River Reservation, north of Cedar
    Point Road in North Olmsted.  Call 440-734-6660 for more

    Swift Night Out



    Sunday, August 7 � 7:30 p.m.



    GarfieldParkNatureCenter � GarfieldPark
    Reservation



    Travel to a designated area to see these neotropical migrants as
    they grace the skies of Northeast Ohio. Carpooling is
    possible.  Registration is required. GarfieldParkNatureCenter
    is located off Mill Creek Lane, off the Broadway Avenue entrance of
    Garfield Park Reservation in Garfield Heights.  Call

    Bird Banding

    Reservation



    Better than binoculars! See intricate details of plumage and

    Monthly Morning with the Birds

    Stroll along wetlands and through forest and field to discover
    which birds are in the area as the migration of some neotropical
    migrants begins.  Also look for late nesters on this 2-mile
    walk with NaturalistDavidDvorak.RockyRiverNatureCenter is located

    Bird Banding: Migrating Wonders

    � Mill Stream Run Reservation



    Migrants, fly catchers and warblers, oh my! Which birds migrate
    through Cleveland Metroparks? Get an up-close look as they are
    banded and study these migrating gems. Program cancelled during
    rain.  Program is at corner of Eastland Road and Valley
    Parkway in Mill Stream Run Reservation, north of Whitney Road in
    Berea. Follow the signs and drop in any time during the listed
