Independence Day holiday celebrations won't get any more colorful than Red, White & Zoo at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo!
The annual patriotic party takes place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, July 4, with special holiday themed animal enrichment demonstrations between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Animal keepers will create red, white and blue treats for some of the Zoo's animals including the colobus monkeys on Monkey Island, the fossa, swamp monkeys and Hamadryas baboons in the Primate, Cat & Aquatics Building, the polar bear, seals and sea lions in Northern Trek and the orangutans in The RainForest.
And don't miss the chance to see Professor Wylde's Live Animal Show, giraffe feedings and the rest of the Zoo's summer 'Hot Spots.'
Because Monday, July 4, is the Independence Day holiday, the traditional free Monday admission for residents of Cuyahoga County and Hinckley Township will be offered on Tuesday, July 5.
Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily with hours extended to 7 p.m. on weekends and holidays from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Admission is $11 per person, $8 for kids ages 2 to 11 and free for children younger than 2 and Zoo members. Parking is free. Located at 3900 Wildlife Way, the Zoo is easily accessible from Interstates 71, 90 and 480.
