Cleveland Metroparks visitors are invited to try their hand at
the ancient craft of origami at an Origami Workshop on Saturday,
February 5 from 9 a.m. to noon at Look About Lodge in South Chagrin
Reservation in Bentleyville.
Artist Jeff Balazs demonstrates and leads participants, ages 12
and older, through the steps to create origami originals.
Origami is the Japanese art of folding paper to resemble
objects. Individual origami pieces can vary widely in size and
design, from simple folded boxes to ornate creatures made by
joining several different sheets of paper. Young people often learn
simple origami in school, and some people continue to practice the
craft into adulthood.
Registration and a $10 fee per person are required. Space is
limited.
Look About Lodge is located at 37374 Miles Road in South Chagrin
Reservation, between SOM Center Road/Route 91 and Chagrin River
Road in Bentleyville.
For more information and to register, call 440-247-7075.
