    Cleveland Metroparks at night is a great place to explore and
    discover the nocturnal, feathered hunters - owls!



     



    Enjoy the following owl-related programs in January and
    February:



     



    Owl Prowl



    Thursday, January 27 � 7 - 8:30 p.m.



    BrecksvilleNatureCenter � Brecksville
    Reservation



    Learn about these fascinating nocturnal animals and their
    adaptations.  After the indoor presentation, head out to try
    and call an owl. BrecksvilleNatureCenter is located off Chippewa
    Creek Drive, off the Route 82 entrance of Brecksville Reservation
    in Brecksville. For more information, call 440-526-1012.



     



    Screech Owls!



    Friday, February 11 � 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.



    GarfieldParkNatureCenter � GarfieldPark
    Reservation



    What does it mean if you hear an owl? Some say misfortune is
    coming your way; other say visitors will be arriving soon. Learn
    some owl folklore before venturing out to find the screech owls
    that are known to nest in Garfield Park Reservation. Registration
    is required. GarfieldParkNatureCenter is located off Mill Creek
    Lane, off the Broadway Avenue entrance of Garfield Park Reservation
    in Garfield Heights. For more information and to register, call

    Dinner and an Owl Prowl



    Saturday, February 12 � 6 - 8 p.m.



    Look About Lodge � South Chagrin Reservation



    Adults are invited to bring a spouse or friend to a
    sophisticated evening of owls at Look About Lodge. Learn a little
    about owls indoors, enjoy an owl-inspired dinner and then head out
    into the winter night in search of these grand birds of prey.
    Registration is required. There is a $20 fee per couple. Space is
    limited. Look About Lodge is located at 37374 Miles Road in South
    Chagrin Reservation, between SOM Center Road/Route 91 and Chagrin
    River Roadin Bentleyville. For more information and to register,

    Owl Pellets



    Sunday, February 20 � 2 - 3 p.m.



    GarfieldParkNatureCenter � GarfieldPark
    Reservation



    Ever wonder what an owl eats? Come be a nature detective and
    investigate what the owl coughs up after a meal. Take a close-up
    look at bones, feathers and fur to learn about these silent
    hunters. Registration is required. GarfieldParkNatureCenter is
    located off Mill Creek Lane, off the Broadway Avenue entrance of
    Garfield Park Reservation in Garfield Heights. For more information

    Sunday, February 27 � 1 - 4 p.m.



    NorthChagrinNatureCenter's NatureEducationBuilding
    � North Chagrin Reservation



    Owls are among our most fascinating birds! Come learn about the
    myths and facts surrounding these popular birds. The program
    features live owls, activities and a movie about owls.
    NorthChagrinNatureCenter's NatureEducationBuilding is located
    behind the nature center, off Buttermilk Falls Parkway, off the
    Sunset Lane entrance of North Chagrin Reservation, off SOM Center
    Road/Rout 91 in MayfieldVillage. For more information, call

    Owl Prowl



    Sunday, February 27 � 6:30 - 8 p.m.



    A.B. Williams Memorial Woods parking lot � North Chagrin
    Reservation



    As part of  the "Owl Sunday" program at
    NorthChagrinNatureCenter, finish off the day with an owl prowl.
    Search the forested trails and ravines for screech, barred and
    great horned owls. A.B. Williams Memorial Woods is located behind
    Forest Picnic Area, off Buttermilk Falls Parkway, off the Sunset
    Lane entrance of North Chagrin Reservation, off SOM Center
    Road/Route 91 in MayfieldVillage. For more information, call
