Cleveland Metroparks Zoo's Marketing & Public Relations Division welcomed Laura Andrews to its staff earlier this month.
As a Specialist with the Zoo's Marketing & PR staff, Andrews works on a wide variety of projects ranging from print collateral materials to event planning and social media. Andrews comes on board just in time to help the rest of the staff plan the eight-night seasonal spectacular, Boo at the Zoo.
There aren't very many people in the marketing, PR or media industry in this region that would pass up the chance to work at the Zoo, Andrews said. The Zoo has an excellent reputation as the No. 1 year-round attraction in Northeast Ohio, and it is now at 19 years straight with a million-plus visitors.
A native of Northeast Ohio, Andrews grew up in Cuyahoga Falls and currently lives in Northfield. She comes to the Zoo from Allied Integrated Marketing where she worked as a publicist. Andrews has experience from another of Northeast Ohio's premier attractions as well, the Cleveland Museum of Art.
Andrews earned her bachelor's degree in communications from the College of Wooster and her master's degree in public relations from Kent State University.
Laura is a great addition to our staff, said Marketing & PR Manager Sue Allen. Her experience with social media combined with her institutional experience from the art museum will be invaluable to us as we move forward with our marketing efforts in the digital age.
