Fall is the perfect time to grab a camera to discover the
changing seasons and take a picture to capture the moment. North
Chagrin Reservation, especially the area around North Chagrin
Nature Center, is highly regarded as one of the best places to
enjoy and photograph the breathtaking fall colors and migrating
wood ducks.
Discover the art of taking nature photographs through Photo
Treks and presentations at Cleveland Metroparks "North Chagrin
Nature Photography Weekend" on Saturday and Sunday, October 16
and 17 at North Chagrin Nature Center in North Chagrin Reservation
in Mayfield Village.
The free event features a weekend of Photo Treks, the North
Chagrin Nature Photography Photo Contest & Show, and speakers
and presentations focusing on Wildlife, Macro and Landscape
Photography of Northeast Ohio, including internationally-known
Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist and regular contributor to
National Geographic Magazine - Olympus Visionary
photographer Jay Dickman as the featured speaker sharing his
talents and adventures.
The Photo Treks offered on Saturday and Sunday are:
Saturday, October 16

Registration and a $5 fee are required for each Photo Trek.
Registration begins October 1. Space is limited.
And, don't miss the wonderful presentations from experienced
photographers, including featured speaker Jay Dickman speaking on
"Photographing Your Life - The Importance of Photography and
Storytelling to Us: Personal Insights from a National Geographic
Photographer" on Saturday, October 16 at 3:30 p.m. and on
Sunday, October 17 at 12:30 p.m.
Jay Dickman: Dickman is one of the most traveled,
experienced and celebrated photographers in the Olympus Visionary
program. He has contributed to 15 Day in the Life
series book projects and truly embodies Olympus' capture-it-all
spirit. Dickman has captured a variety of subjects during his
three-and-a-half-decade career. He has documented the civil
war in El Salvador, six Super Bowls, the 40th anniversary of the
Hiroshima bombing, and Summer Olympic Games. He has taken
photographs for a who's who of corporate clients including Nike,
HP, Quaker, and the NFL. He has won several World Press
International awards, including the "Golden Eye" and the
Sigma Delta Chi Award for Distinguished Service in
Journalism. He is also a proud husband and father.
The special presentations are free and seating is limited
for both.

Olympus SLR cameras/lenses/binoculars.
And, while at the nature center, be sure to view the photos entered
in the North Chagrin Nature Photography Photo Contest &
Show. Over 90 photos will be hung throughout the nature
center in the three categories of Wildlife, Macro and Landscape
Photography of Northeast Ohio. And, visitors can vote in the
"Viewer's Choice" award for their favorite photo in the
show.
NorthChagrinNatureCenter is located off Buttermilk Falls Parkway,
off the Sunset Lane entrance of North Chagrin Reservation, off SOM
Center Road/Route 91 in MayfieldVillage - south of the I-90/Rte. 91
exit.
