    CLEVELAND METROPARKS GOLF COURSES TO PARTICIPATE IN FOURTH ANNUAL PATRIOT GOLF DAY

    Cleveland Metroparks seven golf courses will participate in the
    fourth annual Patriot Golf Day, a joint initiative of the



    PGA of American and the United State Golf Association.



     



    On September 3 through 6, golfers across the country and at
    Cleveland Metroparks golf facilities have the unique opportunity to
    donate $1 or more to benefit the Folds of Honor Foundation
    (FoldsofHonor.org), which provides post-secondary educational
    scholarships to families of those who have become disabled or lost
    their lives in the line of duty. Although not required, Cleveland
    Metroparks golf courses will ask for an additional $1 donation for
    each greens fee processed September 3 to 6.

    The inaugural Patriot Golf Day was held September 1, 2007 and
    resulted in nationwide donations of more than $1.1 million from
    more than 3,200 golf facilities. In the last three years, golfers
    nationwide have been instrumental in raising more than $5.3 million
    through Patriot Golf Day events.



     



    Patriot Golf Day was inspired by Major Dan Rooney, a PGA
    Professional and USGA member from Broken Arrow, Okla. Rooney served
    three tours of duty in Iraq as an F-16 pilot in the
    125th Fighter Squadron of the Oklahoma Air National
    Guard.



     



    Individuals interested in contributing to the Folds of Honor
