Outdoor survival skills can be very important when heading out
on an adventure, and in case of an emergency. In extreme
situations, understanding basic skills can be the difference
between life and death.
Cleveland Metroparks invites everyone to learn basic outdoor
survival techniques and enjoy outdoor adventures with more
confidence by attending the free, three-part "Basic
Wilderness Survival" program on Saturdays, October 2, 9 and 16
at BrecksvilleNatureCenter.
Each of the three parts take place from noon to 4 p.m.
Volunteer Naturalists Don Howell and Ron Lemieux lead
participants in this three-part course in fire-making,
shelter-building, finding and cooking food, and locating drinkable
water.
Registration, beginning September 20, is required. Space is
limited.
Participants under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult and
have permission from BrecksvilleNatureCenter staff to participate
in the program.
BrecksvilleNatureCenter is located off Chippewa Creek Drive, off
the Route 82 entrance of Brecksville Reservation in
Brecksville.
For more information and to register, call 440-526-1012.
