Photographers: Cleveland Metroparks has the perfect
landscapes and wildlife for some great "natural
Photographers are encouraged to carry their cameras around while
visiting the Park District, and one of the photographs might be
awarded "Best of Show."
Print that great photo and enter it in the "North Chagrin
Nature Photography Weekend" Photography Contest & Show,
part of the "North Chagrin Nature Photography Weekend" on
Saturday, October 16 and Sunday, October 17 at
NorthChagrinNatureCenter in North Chagrin Reservation in
Photography Contest application forms/rules are available online at
www.clevelandmetroparks.com and at all Park District outdoor
education facilities. The photographic pieces must be
8"x10" or larger, framed and ready-to-hang prints of
wildlife, macro and landscape photography of Northeast Ohio.
The photographs must be delivered to the nature center between
September 17 through 26, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The selected
photographs will be exhibited at the nature center during the month
of October, and will be featured as part of the event.
Prizes will be awarded in each category and in two divisions:
adults and children, 17 & under. Awards will be given for
Best of Show, and first place, second place, third place in each
category (wildlife, macro and landscape) and each division, along
with a Viewers' Choice.
Cleveland Metroparks "North Chagrin Nature Photography
Weekend" features photo treks, the Photo Contest Show,
speakers and presentations, and internationally-known photographer
Jay Dickman - a regular contributor to National Geographic Magazine
as the featured speaker sharing his talents and adventures.
Dickman is one of the most traveled, experienced and celebrated
photographers in the Olympus Visionary program. Experts from
Dodd Camera will also be available to answer questions and allow
participants to try some of the newest photographic equipment from
the hottest digital SLR cameras to large format printers,
NorthChagrinNatureCenter is located off Buttermilk Falls Parkway,
off the Sunset Lane entrance of North Chagrin Reservation, off SOM
Center Road/Route 91 in MayfieldVillage.
