    Cleveland Metroparks invites everyone learn more about cultural and
    natural history at a variety of free programs in May:

     

    Bike Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation

    Thursday, May 20 � 6 p.m.

    CanalWay Center � Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation

    Cultural History Interpreter Doug Kusak and Naturalist Jill
    Hauger lead a 6-mile "history and nature adventure" by
    bicycle heading south along the Ohio & Erie Canal. Make a quick
    stop to refuel with ice cream, and then head back to
    CanalWayCenter. Bring money for the ice cream stop. Registration is
    required, and space is limited. CanalWayCenter is located on
    Whittlesey Way, off the East 49th Street entrance of Ohio &
    Erie Canal Reservation, between Grant Avenue and Canal Road in
    CuyahogaHeights. For more information and to register, call

    Hidden Story Hike

    Tuesday, May 25 �
    9:30 - 11:30 a.m.

    WallaceLake
    parking lot � Mill Stream Run Reservation

    Adults are invited to travel back in time to when the Berea
    quarries were a booming business. Join Naturalist Sharon Hosko for
    a 3-mile search of the quarry with remnants still visible, from
    WallaceLake to Bagley Road and back. WallaceLake is located off
    Valley Parkway in Mill Stream Run Reservation, south of Bagley Road
    in Berea. For more information, call 440-526-1012.

     

    A Salute to Women Veterans

    Sunday, May 30 � 2 - 3:30 p.m.

    Garfield Park Nature Center � Garfield Park Reservation

    Join Cultural History Interpreter Sherrie Tolliver to hear
    about, celebrate, and appreciate the women who made history in the
    military. Families are invited to share their stories, too, and
    participating veterans can be recognized for their service.
    Garfield Park Nature Center is located off Mill Creek Lane, off the
    Broadway Avenue entrance of Garfield Park Reservation in Garfield
    Heights. For more information, call 216-341-3152.
