    This year, show dear old dad how much you love and appreciate him
    on Father's Day by treating him to a canoe outing, a wildlife hike,
    a delicious breakfast, or more.  

     

    Create memories that will last a lifetime with the following
    Father's Day-related programs:



     



    Voyageur Canoe Paddles 

    Saturday, June 19 & Sunday, June 20 ● 11 a.m., 12:30
    p.m., 2 p.m. or 3:30 p.m.

    Wallace Lake ● Mill Stream Run Reservation

    Join Cleveland Metroparks French Canadian voyageurs for an
    hour-long paddle. This living history program gives participants
    the opportunity to paddle a 34-foot canoe, sing, and hear tales and
    adventures of fur traders of long ago. Registration and $5 fee per
    person are required. Space is limited. WallaceLake is located off
    Valley Parkway in Mill Stream Run Reservation, south of Bagley Road

    Dad and Me: Nature Challenge

    Saturday, June 19 ●
    1 - 3 p.m.

    NorthChagrinNatureCenter
    ● North Chagrin
    Reservation

    Compete in a nature challenge! Visitors can see if they have
    what it takes to perform a variety of outdoor skills from tying
    knots to solving puzzles.  If successful, the reward will be
    mighty sweet. Drop in anytime between 1 and 3
    p.m.NorthChagrinNatureCenter is located off Buttermilk Falls
    Parkway, off the Sunset Lane entrance of North Chagrin Reservation,
    off SOM Center Road/Route 91 in MayfieldVillage. For more

    Look Under Logs!

    Saturday, June 19 ●
    1 - 2 p.m.

    It's easy to get up-close and personal with Ohio wildlife. The
    hidden microhabitats beneath logs and rocks are teeming with flora
    and fauna. Join Naturalist Bethany Majeski for a fun adventure in
    the woods and discover some of these wonders. Rocky
    RiverNatureCenter is located at 24000 Valley Parkway in Rocky River
    Reservation, north of Cedar Point Road in North Olmsted. For more

    Dad's Day Dog Walk

    Sunday, June 20 ●
    8 - 9:30 a.m.

    Chippewa Creek Gorge Trailhead ● Brecksville Reservation

    Bring dad along or let him sleep in, but begin a great day with
    a 1-mile dog walk in the woods. Enjoy gorgeous views and floodplain
    forests. Walkers without dogs are welcome. Registration is
    required. Chippewa Creek Gorge Trailhead is located off the Route
    82 entrance of Brecksville Reservation in Brecksville. For more

    Sunday Bird Walk

    Sunday, June 20 ● 8 - 10 a.m.

    Strawberry Picnic Area parking lot ● North Chagrin
    Reservation

    June marks the official time that breeding bird activity can be
    documented. Search the pines and hemlocks on a 2-mile journey for
    some common and perhaps some not-so-common nesting birds of North
    Chagrin Reservation. Binoculars recommended, some available to
    borrow. Strawberry Picnic Area is located off Buttermilk Falls
    Parkway, off the Strawberry Lane entrance of North Chagrin
    Reservation, off SOM Center Road/Route 91 in Willoughby Hills. For

    Tour de Necklace

    Sunday, June 20 ●
    9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.

    Fern Hill Picnic Area ● Big Creek Reservation

    Join a 14-mile bicycle ride through Big Creek Reservation with
    stops at both LakeAbram and LakeIsaac. Cycle on the new, beautiful
    Lake to Lake Trail. Lunch stop will be at Eastland Road Picnic
    Area. This program is for ages 14 to adult. Registration is
    required. Fern Hill Picnic Area is located off Big Creek Parkway,
    off the Brook Park Road entrance of Big Creek Reservation in Parma.

    Pancakes with Papa

    Saturday, June 20 ●
    11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

    It's Dad's day! Bring him to GarfieldParkNatureCenter for a
    pancake and sausage breakfast, crafts and a scavenger hunt.
    Registration, beginning June 1, is required.
    GarfieldParkNatureCenter is located off Mill Creek Lane, off the
    Broadway Avenue entrance of Garfield Park Reservation in Garfield

    Afternoon in the Forest

    Sunday, June 20 ● 1:30 p.m. - 3 p.m.

    Strawberry Picnic Area parking lot ● North Chagrin
    Reservation

    Enjoy the afternoon under the white pines and Eastern hemlocks
    of North Chagrin Reservation on a 

    3- to 4-mile trek. Search out the remnants of spring wildflowers
    and listen for nesting birds setting up their territories.

    Ecotone Hike

    Sunday, June 20 ● 3 - 4:30 p.m.

    Lewis Road Riding Ring ● Rocky River Reservation

    The meadow is a habitat with a lot to offer, especially when it
    is next to a forest. Come learn about life on the edge. Lewis Road
    Riding Ring is located off Lewis Road in Rocky River Reservation,
    between Cedar Point and Barrett roads in North Olmsted. For more

    In addition to a variety of Father's Day related programs offered
    in the Park District, EarthWords Nature Shop at Rocky River Nature
    Center invites dads and their families "A Day with Dad"
    on Sunday, June 20 from noon to 2 p.m. and celebrate Father's Day
    with a hot dog lunch, shopping at EarthWords, a digital photo
    scavenger hunt, pond dipping with a naturalist, EarthWords
    discounts for dad, and more! Registration and a $2 fee are
