    THE BIRDS AREN'T THE ONLY ONES SINGING IN CLEVELAND METROPARKS THIS SUMMER

    This summer, Cleveland Metroparks has a variety of free music
    programs and outdoor concerts for everyone's listening pleasure,
    including: 

     

    Acoustic Players Circle: Pete Seeger Songs

    Saturday, July 24 � 1 - 3 p.m.  


    CanalWayCenter
    � Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation

    All players and all levels welcome. Listeners, too! Calling all
    strummers, pickers, grinners, and pluckers! Bring instrument(s) and
    favorite Pete Seeger songs to CanalWayCenter's State Boat Landing
    Room and join the circle. CanalWayCenter is located on Whittlesey
    Way, off the East 49th Street entrance of Ohio & Erie Canal
    Reservation, between Grant Avenue and Canal Road in
    CuyahogaHeights. For more information, call 216-206-1000.

     

    Concert In The Park

    Tuesday, July 27 �
    7:30 - 8:30 p.m.  

    Forest Picnic Area � North Chagrin Reservation

    Enjoy the music of the Hillcrest Concert Band and the
    University Heights Concert Band with Director Dr. Harvey Sisler.
    The free concert is accessible to all. Picnic tables are available,
    but feel free to bring lawn chairs and blankets, too. Forest Picnic
    Area is located off Buttermilk Falls Parkway, off the Sunset Lane
    entrance of North Chagrin Reservation, off SOM Center Road/Route 91
    in MayfieldVillage. For more information,

    The music doesn't stop there! Make sure to check out and enjoy all
    the free concerts Cleveland Metroparks offers this summer:

     

    "Look About Lodge Concert Series" is on Sunday evenings,
    July 11 through August 15, at 6 p.m. at Look About Lodge in South
    Chagrin Reservation in Bentleyville.

     

    The free "Look About Lodge Concerts" are:

    July 11: Hey Mavis - modern olde-time

    July 18: The Kingbees - classic rock, jazz and blues

    July 25: Umojah Nation -  reggae

    August 1: Foster Brown & Friends - kids concert

    August 8: Frankie Starr Band - blues, rock and jazz

    August 15: No Money Down - blues, rock & roll, reggae, and
    more

     

    Look About Lodge is located at 37374 Miles Rd. in South Chagrin
    Reservation, between SOM Center Road/Route 91 and Chagrin River
    Road in Bentleyville.

    More music can be heard at "The Brookside
    Lawnchair Concerts" on Friday, July 23 and Friday,
    August 27 at



    8 p.m. at BrooksideValley Event Site in Brookside
    Reservation. 



     



    The free concerts feature local bands that are not strangers to
    the Cleveland music scene. Bring blankets and lawnchairs and plan
    to settle in for the great sounds of:





    Blue Lunch (big blues) on Friday, July 23

    The Erie Heights Brass Ensemble (variety) on Friday,



    August 27



     

    Cleveland Metroparks will also be groovin' at the free
    "BrookStock - A Celebration of Music & Nature"
    event on Saturday, July 17 from 2 to 8:30 p.m. at the Brookside
    Valley Event Site in Brookside Reservation in
    Cleveland.  

     

    "BrookStock" features four great local bands filling the
    air with bluegrass, jazz, Americana, Cajun/New Orleans style, and
    reggae.

     

    The Featured Bands on the "BrookStock" Stage are:

    2 p.m.          Silver
    String Band - bluegrass & jazz

    3:30 p.m.      Hey Mavis - Americana

    5 p.m.          Mo'MoJo -
    Cajun & New Orleans style

    6:30 p.m.      Carlos Jones & the
    P.L.U.S. Band - reggae

     

    Brookside Valley Event Site is located off John Nagy Blvd., off the
    Ridge Rd. entrance of Brookside Reservation in Cleveland - north of
    the I-480/Ridge Rd. exit.
