globe through armchair adventures. Explore the delicate yet
sometimes harsh beauty of nature and discover the culture and
heritage of our cousins around the globe right from your seat.
The following free �Friday Nights With Nature� presentations are
offered Fridays this January and February at 7:30 p.m. at Rocky
RiverNatureCenter in North Olmstead:
Friday Nights with Nature: �Natural
Gems of Israel� with ami

January 7
Asia, Africa and Europe meet in Israel, enriching it with a
diversity of plants and animals. Join Ami Horowitz, who grew up in
Israel, on a trip to discover many natural environments - from
NegevDesert to lush Galilee.
Friday Nights With Nature: �Exploring New
Zealand on Foot� with mary huey
January 14
The best way to see a country is on foot. Mary Huey will share
her three weeks of hiking adventures in beautiful New Zealand along
with insights into the local culture and conservation in this fairy
tale country.
Friday Nights With Nature: �To the Roof of
Africa� with Nancy Hughes
January 21
Visit Africa's highest free standing, glacier-covered,
equatorial mountain - Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Nancy Hughes
shares her experiences climbing through five different ecosystems,
challenging her endurance along the way.
Friday Nights With Nature: �Natural History of
Costa Rica� with andy jones
January 28
Though tiny, Costa Rica boasts amazing biodiversity. Trek with
The Cleveland Museum of Natural History's Andy Jones from the
mountains down to the Pacific and Atlantic coasts, discovering how
so many organisms have made Costa Rica their home.
Friday Nights With Nature: �Pacific Northwest� with
Naturalist David Dvorak
February 4
From mountain forests to Palouse grasslands, this program
features the land from GlacierNational Park in Montana to Olympic
National Park in Washington. Discover the natural connections and
diverse habitats of this area with Naturalist David Dvorak.
Friday Nights With Nature: �The Changing Tides of Fundy�
with Karen Beck.
February 11
Photographer and historian Karen Beck reveals the ebb and flow
of the Bay of Fundy's aquatic and political tides. Visit forests
primeval, walk on the floor of the sea, and hear the tale of the
Acadie � people caught between Britain and France in a battle for
world dominance.
Friday Nights With Nature: �Southern Africa Safari�
with Naturalist Min Keung
February 18
Lions, elephants and giraffes showed up on Naturalist Min
Keung's path during a recent safari to Southern Africa. Join us as
she shares highlights of her trip to Botswana, Namibia and
Zimbabwe.
Friday Nights With Nature: �North to Alaska�
with Naturalist Ken Gober
February 25
Explore wild Alaska with Naturalist Ken Gober. Travel north of
the Arctic Circle to Gates of the Arctic National Park &
Preserve for the fall caribou migration, and enjoy the grand
wildlife and scenery of Denali National Park & Preserve. Don't
miss the adventures!
Seating is limited for each night's presentation. Doors
open at 6:45 p.m. Program is from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
