Hike into the deep woodlands and find the
brilliant diversity of one of Northeast Ohio's most stunning breed
of plants-ferns!
Join Jen Brumfield and Stefanie Verish,
naturalists and co-authors of The Fascinated Naturalist's Guide
to Ferns of Cleveland Metroparks, as they lead participants
into the forests during "Fascinating FERNS," a hiking
tour, on Tuesday, September 14 from 9 to 11 a.m. in Bedford
Reservation.
Identify the elegant ferns that decorate the forest floor while
being led on a three-mile hike through Bedford Reservation. The
terrain is of moderate intensity, and includes some off-trail
walking. The program is recommended for adults.
The new, user-friendly book will be available
for purchase on site, and is available at any of the EarthWords
Nature Shops (located in CanalWayCenter, NorthChagrinNature
Center and Rocky RiverNatureCenter).
The hike begins at Gorge Scenic Overlook,
located off Gorge Parkway in Bedford Reservation, between Dunham
and Egbert roads in Walton Hills.
