A high-tech adventure for outdoor treasures
    awaits you in the "HiddenValley!"

Cleveland Metroparks invites adults and families
to explore the new world of GPS and geocaching, starting at
CanalWayCenter in Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation in
    CuyahogaHeights.

Never tried geocaching? "Geocaching is a family-friendly,
fun way to meld nature and technology in a high-tech game of hide
and seek across the fields and forests of Cleveland Metroparks.

Explore geaocaching as a beginner at the following free
"Treasure Hunt Adventure" programs in September:

Treasure Hunt Adventure  (GPS for Beginners of All
    Ages)

    Saturday and Sunday, September 18 & 19

    10 a.m. -OR-2 p.m.

    CanalWayCenter Ohio & Erie Canal
    Reservation

Cultural History Interpreter Doug Kusak provides a brief history
of GPS (Global Positioning System) and an introduction to
geocaching - a worldwide treasure hunt for fun that can be enjoyed
in your own "backyard." Participants can learn the
basics, and then, head out to find geocaches in Ohio & Erie
Canal Reservation. Bring your own GPS unit or borrow one (quantity
is limited and requires valid driver's license for duration of
loan, not to exceed two hours). This is an excellent activity for
the whole family. Registration is required.  For more
information and to register, call 216-206-1000.

In addition to these programs, park visitors can
enjoy hunting for geocaches in a number of locations in the Park
District. A geocache is usually a small container that contains a
logbook for registering your find and small items. The hidden
containers may include a camera or other trackable items and should
be left at the location.  The hidden containers have a general
rule that if an item is taken, an item should be left, and
containers should be left at the exact site as others will be
seeking them. Geocaching is enjoyed by people of all age groups all
over the world, with a strong sense of community and support for
    the environment. Go to "http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?et=1103611198696&s=0&e=001x9x_b_S5HQxmhY3YCXjLdXH2BIMGoRSJgkhekS6NNnIm9-RkHAifpxiIyw_aRxOhS1uzOkieXptWVafclWu-R4RJW1XcRKx9CrZisKZLPICbxe6d-6P1Bg=="

CanalWayCenter is located on Whittlesey Way, off
the East 49th Street entrance of Ohio & Erie Canal
Reservation, between Grant Avenue and Canal Road in
    CuyahogaHeights.

Go on a high-tech "Treasure Hunt
Adventure," geocaching in Cleveland Metroparks -
    part of your life, naturally.
