Cleveland Metroparks invites everyone to learn the art of
woodcarving and explore it first-hand in the beauty of nature at
the free "Exploration Station - Woodcarving Under the
Cottonwoods" program on Saturday, September 4 from 11 a.m. to
3 p.m. in Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation in Cuyahoga
Heights.
Members of the Great Lakes Woodcarvers will be demonstrating
their craft along the Canal, under the cottonwood tress near the
Towpath Trail.
Visitors are invited to stop by anytime between 11 a.m. and 3
p.m. and see the fine workmanship and get tips on how to get
started.
The program will take place along the Canal below
CanalWayCenter, which is located on Whittlesey Way, off the East
49th Street entrance of Ohio & Erie Canal
Reservation, between Grant Avenue and Canal Road in
Cuyahoga Heights. Follow the trail the trail behind
CanalWayCenter to the canal.
Woodcarving is the art of creating or decorating objects of wood
by carving with a sharp hand-held tool.
